Volunteers Preserve Historic Meeting House

Volunteers from at least 6 local fire companies worked cooperatively during the afternoon of March 20th to preserve the 252 year old structure that provides a home for Exter Friends Meeting. First responding to the scene was Amity, then Stonersville from Exeter. Also contributing were Boyertown, Oley, Birdsboro and Reifton. While damage was extensive to the roof and ceiling on the east side of the building, meeting members were amazed to see that the firefighters had covered the floor and benches on the west side to limit exposure to water.

Members appreciate the quick and considerate action of our neighbors who volunteer to protect lives and property.
